The Legal Director supports strategic goals and business performance by leading legal activities in partnership with business and legal leadership. Key responsibilities include managing compliance, contracts, legal operations, and supporting corporate activities. Serving as the senior legal representative for the organization, the role advises leadership on legal matters, oversees legal risk management, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and Lead Legal Strategy

• Establish and implement an organization-wide legal strategy.
• Develop and oversee strategies for identifying, managing, and mitigating legal risks.
• Direct the development and continuous improvement of legal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.

Oversee Legal Operations and Risk Management

• Define, manage, and oversee all legal activities, including establishing accountability between the legal function and business leadership. Responsibilities include: Reviewing, evaluating, negotiating, and drafting legal documents, including contracts, licenses, real estate agreements, and other documents with legal implications.
• Assessing legal risks and regulatory considerations by analyzing applicable laws, regulations, and legislative frameworks, and providing legal guidance on their application.
• Managing disputes, investigations, litigation, and arbitration matters, including stakeholder counsel, case administration, incident management, and oversight of external legal advisors.
• Supporting remediation efforts and corrective action plans to address legal concerns in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external parties.
• Managing regulatory reporting requirements and providing legal support for corporate transactions, business development initiatives, and other special projects.
• Establishing internal governance policies and monitoring organizational compliance.

Drive Organizational Effectiveness

• Support major business initiatives by providing strategic legal guidance and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Promote operational effectiveness and cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

Lead the Legal Function

• Manage and provide leadership for the legal department.
