Job summary

4impact is seeking a Senior Test Automation Architect to own the design of a shared automation framework for enterprise testing. You will set standards, mentor engineers, and ensure smooth BAU handover, delivering scalable, repeatable test suites across complex environments.

The role blends deep Java automation expertise with framework leadership, including REST/SOAP, Kafka, and service virtualization, ensuring maintainable and robust test solutions for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• Strong Java and JUnit 5, with proven test-automation framework/architecture design.
• Experience with REST/JSON testing and SOAP with WS-Security is a plus.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Confluent Schema Registry and test-data management.
• Ability to mentor engineers and define automation standards.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build the shared automation framework, including environment config and API clients.
• Define automation standards, patterns, and CI/branching approaches; mentor the team.
• Integrate the framework with GitLab pipeline and reporting (Allure/JUnit).
• Own maintainability, test-data strategy and handover to client BAU teams.
• Design run-isolation and data setup for repeatable CI runs; ensure clean QA handoffs.
