Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Laguna, Philippines is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and grow the purchasing function for pumps production.

You will oversee RFQs, PO processing, supplier coordination, and strategic sourcing activities to ensure uninterrupted supply and cost effectiveness. This 100% onsite role requires at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong leadership, and the ability to drive supplier performance improvements across engineering, operations, and finance.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or its equivalents with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to drive cost-saving initiatives and execute procurement strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the procurement team in handling RFQs, PO processing, and supplier coordination in PUMPS production.
• Strengthen relationships with key suppliers and manage escalations and negotiations.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing and benchmarking.
• Ensure timely procurement to support production and project needs.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement actions.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and inventory planning.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across engineering, operations, and finance.
• Develop and enforce procurement processes, policies, and compliance standards.
• Track KPIs and prepare procurement reports for management.
• Coach and develop team members to improve performance and capability.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the procurement team in handling RFQs, PO processing, and supplier coordination in PUMPS production.
• Manage and strengthen relationships with key suppliers, including handling escalations and negotiations
• Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, benchmarking, and negotiations
• Ensure timely procurement to support production and project requirements
• Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and implement improvement actions
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., dual sourcing, inventory planning)
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance, global teams)
• Develop and enforce procurement processes, policies, and compliance standards
• Track KPIs and prepare procurement reports for management
• Coach and develop team members to improve performance and capability
• Demonstrates consistent communication with direct manager on
  project status, procurement activities, and team concerns.
• Responsible for updating and aligning with the direct Manager on
  operational priorities and team performance.
• Demonstrates effective communication and coordination with
  buyers and direct manager.
