Job summary

Amadeus is seeking a Lead Principal Engineer (Java and Loyalty Solutions) to lead design and development of enterprise Java applications within our Loyalty Competency Center for a major airline customer. You will provide technical leadership across the SDLC, shape architecture, and drive delivery in a global, multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires hands-on coding, deep Java/JEE expertise, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and experience delivering Agile projects.

Qualifications

• Experience developing enterprise software applications using Java and Java Enterprise technologies.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring, or Hibernate is an advantage.
• Experience with Angular is considered an advantage.
• Experience leading technical delivery within Agile development environments (Scrum/Kanban).
• Experience designing and optimizing multithreaded or concurrent applications is a strong advantage.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, engineering principles, and software development best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Java-based applications and services through hands-on solution design, implementation and technical guidance.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality solutions from design and development through testing, maintenance and operational support.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of complex technical challenges, driving root-cause analysis and sustainable solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts through proactive system maintenance, technical debt reduction, and resolution of complex application issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Continuously explore and adopt new technologies, tools, and best practices.
• Lead technical discussions and solution clarifications with customers and stakeholders.
