Job summary

FedEx is seeking a highly driven Lead Industrial Engineer to manage large-scale initiatives in our logistics, warehouse, and infrastructure operations, with a strong focus on automation and sortation systems. The role requires leading end-to-end delivery, coordinating with Operations, Engineering, IT, and Finance, and presenting to senior leadership while ensuring governance and risk management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
Experience leading large-scale projects in logistics, warehouse automation, engineering, or infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with warehouse sortation systems and integration technologies.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage large-scale, complex projects within logistics, warehouse operations, engineering, or infrastructure environments, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
Design, implement, or optimize warehouse sortation systems, including conveyor systems, automated sorters, scanning systems, WMS/WCS integration, and related automation technologies.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including milestones, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and governance frameworks.
Coordinate and align cross-functional teams across Operations, Engineering, IT, Finance, automation vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Drive project timelines proactively, identify potential risks and bottlenecks (especially within automation and system integration), and implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
Establish structured reporting mechanisms and provide regular updates, dashboards, and executive-level presentations to senior leadership.
Perform impact assessments and evaluate operational throughput, capacity planning, financial implications, and resource requirements of sortation and infrastructure initiatives.
Apply strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to resolve complex operational and system integration challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
Ensure disciplined project governance, documentation, and progress tracking in accordance with PMO standards.
