Job summary

Dyson is seeking a Lead Design Engineer to join our Research, Design and Development department in the Philippines. You will act as an independent contributor, owning complex design work and guiding the team to deliver on time, cost and quality.

You will mentor others, review detailed specifications, and drive prototypes and testing. A Mechanical Engineering degree with 8+ years in plastic, rubber or metal design and strong DFx experience is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years in design and product development for plastic, rubber or metal with DFM/DFx.
• Ability to analyze processes, identify problems and develop strategies.
• Lead a project team or contribute as an individual contributor to meet time, cost and spec.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and GD&T with iterative prototyping and testing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product designs and assemblies to production on time, on cost, on quality, and on specification.
• Plan tasks by risk, resolution maturity and task interdependencies.
• Define design requirements with measurable objectives and clear scope.
• Lead high‑risk engineering work and de‑risk with solid design documentation.
• Provide guidance, set goals and delegate tasks to foster collaboration.
• Review detailed specs including CAD drawings, BOMs and tolerances.
