Job summary

Manila Recruitment is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to own the data platform architecture for a cloud-native Azure-based solution and guide a small engineering team. You will design ingestion, transformation and analytics patterns and ensure scalable, cost-effective delivery through to Power BI.

You will establish engineering standards, governance and observability, while delivering production-ready pipelines and data models across Bronze–Silver–Gold.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on data engineering experience in architecture and end-to-end delivery.
• At least 2 years in a lead data engineer/tech lead or people management role.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, dimensional modelling and Medallion Architecture (Bronze → Silver → Gold).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric is required; Databricks/Snowflake/Synapse backgrounds are credible.

Responsibilities

• Own the data engineering architecture and platform direction across ingestion, transformation and analytics.
• Lead a small team of data engineers, review work and guide solution design.
• Develop production-grade pipelines with robust quality, observability and cost controls.
• Define and enforce standards for schema conventions, naming, and testing.
• Ensure Power BI delivery with reliable data sources and semantic models.
