Qualifications

• Technical fluency in geotechnical monitoring, mining, civil, infrastructure or similar.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the regional sales and business development plan, including account priorities, pipeline, forecasting and growth targets.
• Lead new business development to grow the customer base in the region.
• Drive commercialization of a multi‑stack geotechnical solutions portfolio spanning hardware, software, services, and monitoring solutions.
• Execute sales plans ensuring regional consistency while adapting to local market dynamics.
• Communicate with management via pipeline and forecasting meetings.
• Maintain data integrity for accurate pipeline reporting.
• Maintain disciplined sales process outlining wins/losses, opportunities, next steps.
• Understand competitor landscape and align value drivers to commercial needs.
• Provide market intelligence to support marketing and future offerings.
• Keep abreast of market trends and their impact on regional teams.
• Assist bid management with internal briefing packs and proposal documents.

Orica Digital Solutions is seeking a Business Development Lead to grow the Geosolutions In-Situ business across Asia. This role is accountable for translating market opportunity into sustainable commercial growth across mining and infrastructure customers. You will lead complex solution-based sales involving hardware, software, monitoring and services, while building trusted relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.

The role is expected to operate across markets, balance regional consistency with local dynamics, and bring disciplined pipeline management, forecasting and commercial judgement to every stage of the sales cycle.

This position may be based at any of Orica’s major office locations across Asia, subject to local employment arrangements, right-to-work requirements and business needs. You will be required to travel up to 50% throughout the region, as needed.

What you will be doing

• Own and execute the regional sales and business development plan, including account priorities, pipeline, forecasting and growth targets.
• Lead new business development to grow the customer base in the region.
• Drive commercialization of a multi‑stack geotechnical solutions portfolio, spanning hardware, software, services, and monitoring solutions.
• Execute sales and business development plans, ensuring consistency across the region while adapting to market‑specific dynamics.
• Communicate with management internally via commercial sales management pipeline and forecasting meetings.
• Manage and maintain integrity of data input to ensure pipeline reporting is accurate.
• Maintain excellent sales process discipline outlining wins and losses, key project focus, opportunities, progress and next steps for assigned regions and market segments.
• Understand the competitor landscape and identify where our current value drivers align to commercial accounts needs.
• Provide intelligence to assist the marketing function to understand where to best focus business resourcesto develop future offerings.
• Maintain market trends in industry and communicate impacts of market to regional commercial and marketing teams.
• Work with internal stakeholders during bid management process including support in the development of internal briefing packs and proposal documents.

What you will bring

• Proven business development and sales capability in complex, solution-based environments.
• As a guide, 5+ years of progressive commercial business development or sales experience. Equivalent capability demonstrated through scope and outcomes will also be considered.
• Experience managing large deal pipelines and influencing long‑term customer investment decisions.
• Ability to operate across Asia at a national or multi‑market level.
• Technical fluency in geotechnical monitoring, mining, civil, infrastructure or a closely adjacent solutions environment.
• Strong commercial judgement, negotiation, presentation and relationship‑building capability.
• Disciplined use of sales process, pipeline reporting and forecasting. Ability to work independently in a remote, regionally distributed environment.
• Professional English communication. Additional Asian language capability is beneficial.
