20four7VA is seeking a Bookkeeping Manager capable of leading a remote team to deliver accurate client bookkeeping. You will own month-end close, drive reconciliations, and ensure audit-ready reporting while communicating with clients and leadership.

The role requires 5+ years in bookkeeping, strong QuickBooks Online expertise, and experience coaching others. This fully remote position offers structured deadlines and a supportive, professional environment.

Qualifications

5+ years in bookkeeping/accounting roles with hands‑on month‑end close ownership.
2+ years leading or reviewing the work of other bookkeepers (formal or informal leadership).
Strong expertise in QuickBooks Online (required); Xero experience strongly preferred.
Excellent reconciliation skills (bank/credit card/loan accounts; troubleshooting discrepancies).
Strong written communication (client‑facing, professional, clear, and timely).
Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with structured deadlines and checklists.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of bookkeepers; manage workload and performance feedback.
Oversee monthly bookkeeping execution, including coding, reconciliations, cleanup work, and reporting.
Ensure deadlines are met and work is audit-ready; review workpapers and financial reports.
Maintain professional client updates and act as escalation point for complex issues.
Develop and improve SOPs, checklists, and onboarding/offboarding workflows.
Promote best practices in QuickBooks Online and Xero; ensure secure remote handoffs.
