Job Summary:
A Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, ironing, folding, and properly storing linens, uniforms, and clothing. The role ensures cleanliness, hygiene, and proper care of fabrics in hotels, hospitals, laundromats, cruise ships, or residential facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sort laundry according to color, fabric, and washing requirements
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment
- Wash, dry, iron, press, and fold clothes, linens, and uniforms
- Inspect items for stains, damages, or special care needs
- Apply appropriate stain removal techniques
- Ensure proper use of detergents, chemicals, and cleaning agents
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry area and equipment
- Label, store, and distribute clean laundry to designated areas
- Report damaged, missing, or worn-out items to the supervisor
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist in inventory of laundry supplies and linens
- Handle guests’ or clients’ laundry requests professionally (if applicable)
Qualifications and Requirements:
- At least high school graduate (preferred)
- Experience as a laundry attendant or similar role is an advantage
- Knowledge of fabric care and laundry procedures
- Ability to operate laundry machines and tools
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
- Attention to detail and time management skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shifts
- Good communication and teamwork skills
