Job summary

Coherent Corp. in the Philippines is seeking an engineer to install, qualify, maintain and optimize laser assembly and test equipment to ensure high reliability and production readiness.

You will troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. The role supports product development, equipment upgrades and automation projects to improve yield and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining assembly and test equipment to maximize uptime.
• Strong knowledge of motion control, robotics, machine vision and sensors in automation systems.
• Ability to improve equipment performance, process capability, yield and cycle time using data-driven analysis.
• Ability to install, calibrate and preventive maintenance to ensure production readiness.
• Proficient in RCA, FMEA, SPC, and DOE for sustainable corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, maintain and optimize laser assembly and test equipment for high reliability and production readiness.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Support product development, equipment upgrades, automation projects, and process improvements to enhance yield and manufacturing efficiency.
• Develop and maintain equipment documentation and preventive maintenance programs; ensure compliance with quality, ESD, laser safety, cleanroom and EHS standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers and production personnel to resolve issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
