Job summary

Coherent Philippines Pte Ltd is seeking an engineer to support the product lifecycle from development and NPI to ramp-up and sustaining engineering, ensuring changes are implemented smoothly.

You will work with R&D, Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to optimize yields, monitor quality, and drive continuous improvement in a cleanroom or manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of laser devices, product lifecycle, and NPI.
• Proficient in statistical analysis, RCA, FMEA, DOE, and yield improvements.
• Experience in product qualification, performance characterization and failure analysis.
• Ability to drive yield, cost reduction, process optimization using Lean.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Manage product lifecycle by supporting development, NPI, ramp-up, sustaining engineering, and changes.
• Drive product performance by monitoring yield, quality, and manufacturing performance; implement improvements.
• Ensure product compliance by supporting qualification, ECOs, and quality/regulatory standards.
• Resolve technical issues via RCA and corrective actions for product and customer issues (RMA).
• Optimize manufacturing processes with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability, costs, yields, and CI initiatives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for managingthe product lifecycle by supporting product development, new product introduction (NPI), production ramp-up, sustaining engineering, and product changes throughout the product lifecycle

• Drive product performance by monitoring product yield, quality, and manufacturing performance, and implement improvements to meet business and customer requirements

• Ensure product compliance by supporting product qualification, engineering change management, and compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

• Resolve technical issues by leading root cause analysis and corrective actions for product and customer issues (example: RMA) to ensure stable and efficient production.

• Optimize manufacturing processes by collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, increase yields, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Physics or its equivalents. Highly motivated recent college graduate is encouraged to apply.

• Continuous Improvement: Ability to drive yield enhancement, cost reduction, process optimization, and engineering change implementation using Lean manufacturing principles.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effective in working with R&D, Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to deliver robust, manufacturable, and customer-focused products.
