Job summary

SGS is seeking a Laboratory Analyst with a strong background in chemistry-related sciences to perform analyses per the Matrix of Laboratory Tests and to report results in line with QMS policies.

You will prepare reagents, standardize solutions, operate laboratory equipment, and maintain precise documentation while coaching junior staff and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in chemistry, biochemistry, environmental science, chemical engineering or agrichemistry.
• Licensed Chemist or Chemical Technician.
• Experience adhering to QMS and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs sampling, testing and analyses as defined in the Matrix of Laboratory Tests and Analyses.
• Prepares reagents and test solutions and standardizes volumetric solutions per standard methods.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment used in analyses.
• Reads and follows standard operating procedures and maintains accurate documentation.
• Coaches lab analysts I, lab technicians, lab aides and OJTs in test procedures and sample prep.
• Ensures compliance with Quality, Health and Safety, Environment and Energy policies.
