Job summary

SGS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified chemist to perform sampling, testing and analyses in accordance with the Quality Management System. The role includes preparing reagents, maintaining equipment, and reporting results with statistical QC and uncertainty analyses.

The successful candidate will read and follow SOPs, ensure safety compliance, and coach junior staff while maintaining meticulous documentation in a fast-paced laboratory environment in the Philippines.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in BS Chemistry, BS Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering or Agrichemistry and related sciences.
• Licensed Chemist or Chemical Technician.

Responsibilities

• Performs sampling, testing and analyses per the Matrix of Laboratory Tests and in accordance with QMS and Safety policies.
• Prepares reagents and test solutions and standardization of volumetric solutions per standard test methods.
• Participates in proficiency/correlation programs and operates/maintains laboratory equipment.
• Reads, understands and follows standard operating procedures.
• Analyses and interprets test results including QC charts and uncertainty of measurements.
• Prepares/updates reports with QC charts and uncertainties for routine tests.
• Signs worksheets and job instructions and maintains accurate documentation.
• Coaches lab analysts, technicians and trainees on test procedures.
• Maintains a safe, orderly workplace and complies with QHSEE policies and disposal regulations.
