Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd seeks hands-on Kitchen Equipment Maintenance Technicians to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment across our outlets. This is a hands-on, tools-in-hand role, not supervisory; the right person diagnoses problems on the ground, fixes them correctly the first time, and keeps stores running.

The role requires travel across multiple outlets and night shifts or on-call hours to minimize downtime and disruption.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned kitchen equipment.
• Inspect electrical, plumbing, gas, and mechanical components regularly.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, gas, and plumbing issues promptly.
• Perform safe, high-quality repairs using appropriate hand and power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration units, including coolant leaks, compressor issues, and defrost cycles.
• Respond urgently to emergency repair requests, including outside regular hours.
• Uninstallation, safe disposal, installation, and commissioning of kitchen machinery and equipment.
• Report the condition of old or malfunctioning equipment to support repair‑vs‑replace decisions.
• Log service histories, repairs, parts used, and PM completion in the CMMS/maintenance tracker.
• Coordinate with the Facilities Engineer for specialized repairs, warranty service, or inspections.
• Follow OSHA‑aligned safety practices, local health codes, gas safety standards, and proper refrigerant handling.
