Job summary

Avaloq is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Junior/Java to join the DevOps and QA team. You will develop high-quality Java code, maintain robust automation frameworks, and work closely with Developers and Release Managers to deliver Shift-Left QA solutions for the Avaloq Banking Suite.

The role requires collaboration across stakeholders, a strong focus on automated testing, and participation in an agile environment to continuously improve processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java development and associated frameworks (e.g. JEE, Spring, OSGi, Angular).
• Experience with REST APIs and message-based systems (e.g. XML, JSON).
• Strong written and spoken English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality Java code and maintain robust frameworks and tools for Shift-Left automation.
• Debug complex software issues and optimize performance through targeted code improvements.
• Collaborate with product owners to understand and prioritize requirements; work with configuration specialists and engineers to meet standards.
• Own and accountability for specific components of the frameworks and tools.
• Collaborate with development teams on applications and microservices.
• Contribute in an agile environment and improve processes and methodologies.
