Job summary

Avaloq, headquartered in Switzerland, seeks experienced software engineers and analysts for its Securities Operations teams. You will contribute to agile development across centers, delivering features for European clients using PL/SQL and Avaloq Script.

Design, develop, test, and maintain robust solutions while collaborating with team leads, clients, and analysts. A strong SQL/PL-SQL, Java, Python, or C++ background and an autonomous, structured approach are valued.

Qualifications

• Strong proven track record of relevant software development experience of minimum 3 years.
• Good knowledge and sound understanding of database technologies (SQL, Oracle PL/SQL).
• Knowledge of Java programming languages. Python, C++ or similar can be valuable.
• Eager to learn and understand the business needs aiming to provide clean designs and high-quality code.
• Strong conceptual and analytical mind with a structured and autonomous approach to work on complex technical and business problems.

Responsibilities

• Closely collaborate with the Team Lead, Product Owner, Business Analysts, and other Software Engineers.
• Write solution designs for new developments and have them reviewed with our technical leads and architects.
• Participate in client workshops and support our business analysts in requirements analysis.
• Design, develop and maintain thought-out solutions within the team’s responsibility.
• Improve and optimize existing functionalities.
• Develop and maintain automated tests, quality assurance.
• Take ownership and responsibility for your area of expertise.
• To work with agile mindset, process, and ticketing platforms (Jira).

Job Description

The Securities Operations team is a dynamic team of Software Engineers and Business Analysts spread across several development centers. We follow an agile process, working closely with the clients and related teams to develop product features and provide support to our extensive European customer base.

We work with customers and partners to develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet market demands. The team is part of many exciting and challenging projects relating to several initiatives. We are the experts in Avaloq for the Securities Trading, Transaction Reporting, Securities Settlement, Reconciliation and Corporate Actions business. You will have the opportunity to develop software in PL/SQL plus our own Avaloq Script language for those modules.

Your key tasks

It would be a real bonus if you have:

• Experience in the financial industry and/or securities trading topics.
• Experience with other Trading System IT vendors.
• University degree in Computer Science or related discipline (preferable)
• Knowledge in domain specific standards for securities trading like FIX protocol, SWIFT MT or MX (ISO20022)
