Job summary

Holcim Philippines Inc. seeks a qualified Senior Legal Counsel to provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, documentation, negotiation, due diligence, and the execution of commercial transactions.

The role also manages disputes before tribunals, drafts and reviews contracts, supports corporate secretarial functions, tracks legislative changes, conducts trainings, and maintains internal systems while building relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Doctor of Jurisprudence or Bachelor of Laws degree.
• Minimum of five years' relevant legal experience.
• Member of the Philippine Bar in good standing.
• Strong background in litigation, negotiation, and commercial transactions.
• Knowledge of court procedures, litigation and arbitration.
• Ability to negotiate and settle disputes out of court.
• Excellent written and oral communication; strategic thinker.

Job description

• Assists Senior Legal Counsel in providing legal advice and support on all matters with potential legal implications, including regulatory compliance, documentation, negotiation, due diligence, and execution of commercial transactions.
• Manages and handles disputes and litigation before judicial, quasi-judicial, and administrative tribunals.
• Drafts and reviews contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure alignment with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
• Assists with corporate secretarial functions and routine corporate housekeeping.
• Monitors legislative changes and legal trends affecting business operations, providing timely updates to relevant internal stakeholders.
• Conducts legal training and awareness sessions for cross-functional teams.
• Acts as a technical assistant by preparing departmental reports and developing and maintaining internal systems and processes.
• Establishes and maintains positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Doctor of Jurisprudence or Bachelor of Laws Degree holder
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the practice of law.
• Member of the Philippine Bar in good standing.
• Must have a solid background in litigation, negotiation, and commercial transactions .
• Must have comprehensive knowledge of court procedures, litigation and arbitration proceedings
• Must have skills for out-of-court negotiation and dispute settlements
• A good communicator, both written and oral
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think strategically and to develop & implement plans and programs, a wide degree of creativity and latitude, self-driven and can work under pressure
• Must have a strong sense of integrity and business ethics
