Job summary

ING Hubs Philippines seeks a skilled Java Engineer to design, develop, and enhance enterprise-scale backend services using Java and Spring. You’ll deliver robust microservices, participate in architectural decisions, and advance engineering best practices within a high-performing Agile team.

You’ll work with a modern tech stack and contribute to the growth of our digital banking platform, collaborating with engineers across countries and business domains to deliver reliable solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Java development (Java 8+)
• Deep knowledge of Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and enterprise-grade web applications
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Experience building and supporting microservices-based architectures
• JUnit unit and integration testing expertise
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Cassandra)
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, ActiveMQ)
• Exposure to Docker and OpenShift for cloud-native apps
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement

Role Summary

As a Java Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing enterprise-scale backend services using Java and Spring technologies. Working within a high-performing Agile team, you'll deliver robust microservices, contribute to architectural decisions, and help drive engineering best practices across the organization.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Java development (Java 8+)
• Deep knowledge of Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and related modules
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and enterprise-grade web applications
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and engineering best practices
• Experience building and supporting microservices-based architectures
• Expertise in writing unit and integration tests using JUnit
• Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle and Cassandra
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, Azure DevOps, or similar
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or ActiveMQ
• Exposure to container platforms and cloud-native technologies including Docker and OpenShift
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
