Job summary

ING is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join the Shared Technology team in Manila. You will design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for critical banking services, collaborating with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders across ING's global network.

Role Summary

As a QA Automation Engineer , you'll join our Shared Technology team , working in a cross-functional environment where innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement are part of everyday life.

You will design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions that support critical banking services and modernization initiatives. Working closely with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders across ING's global network, you'll help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of applications that serve millions of customers.

What You'll Do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks and test scripts.
• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to define effective testing strategies.
• Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
• Support and improve CI/CD and continuous testing practices.
• Leverage Azure DevOps to manage test activities and quality processes.
• Promote quality-first engineering practices across the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to process improvements that increase testing efficiency and application reliability.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are validated through effective testing.
• Continuously learn and explore emerging technologies, testing tools, and quality engineering practices.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in QA and test automation engineering.
• Strong programming language experience with Java .
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, or other BDD tools.
• Experience using Azure DevOps and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.
• Experience with API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of payment systems or financial services.
• Experience working in enterprise-scale technology environments.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and test automation best practices.
• Experience supporting modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience in Bash or Python scripting.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization and orchestration platforms
• Knowledge of messaging systems such as ActiveMQ or Kafka, including related testing strategies.
• Knowledge of Spring Boot.
