Job summary

Citco in Makati, Philippines, is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst (Functional Manual Tester) for a night shift in a hybrid setup. The role focuses on planning, creating, and executing functional manual tests across agile and waterfall projects.

You will work with multiple stakeholders to define testing strategies and support the automation team while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in functional testing, 1–2 years in agile testing, and hands-on experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 1–2 years' experience in an agile testing role
• 3+ years' experience in a functional testing role
• Strong background in QA processes, SDLC, and methodologies
• Experience with JIRA, Xray, Confluence; ISTQB Foundation is a plus

YourRole:

The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, creation, and execution of functional manual tests required to validate the quality of applications under tests across both agile and waterfall methodologies.

As a QA Analyst, your role includes working closely with multiple stakeholders to define suitable testing strategies based on the characteristics of individual projects. While the primary focus of this role is functional manual testing, the candidate will collaborate with the automation team to support appropriate test prioritization.

As a QA Analyst, your responsibilities include:

• Design, creation, maintenance, optimization, and execution of functional manual test cases covering end-to-end business scenarios, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Validate application functionality against business requirements and functional specifications
• Participate in requirements and design reviews to ensure testability and completeness
• Define and contribute to suitable testing strategies in collaboration with stakeholders
• Participate in agile testing ceremonies and help transition suitable applications to an agile framework
• Work with the automation and performance testing team to identify and propose appropriate test cases for automation prioritization
• Conduct peer reviews of manual test scripts to ensure adherence to testing standards
• Produce individual QA status reports and support the full defect management lifecycle
• Accurately log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools
• Work closely with Business Analysts and business stakeholders to clarify functional requirements
• Collaborate with Development, Project Management, and QA teams
• Communicate and report on assigned tasks to the QA Lead/Manager and PM
• Take responsibility and exhibit ownership of assigned tasks

About You:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline
• At least 1–2 years' experience in an agile testing specific role
• 3+ years' experience in a functional testing specific role
• Strong background in QA processes, the Software Development Lifecycle and methodologies
• Experience with the following tools: JIRA, Xray, Confluence
• Solid understanding of test case design techniques (e.g., equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, decision tables)
• Able to set priorities and be flexible with a high degree of accuracy
• Display critical, quality-orientated, skeptical thinking about the product
• Proactive, willing to accept responsibility with minimal handholding
• Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills including oral and written English
• Ability to work in fast-paced, complex Business & IT environments
• Positive and solution-oriented with team members and stakeholders
• Respond to change quickly, including adapting and improving test approaches
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks with urgency
• Able to work in a high-pressure environment, independently or as part of a team
• Accurately evaluate and report test results, test progress, and product quality
• ISTQB Foundation Software Certification is a distinct advantage
• Permanent working night shift schedule is a must.
