Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking an IT PMO Lead to own and mature the IT PMO and related governance, portfolio management, demand management, and KPI disciplines. This role reports to IT Steering Committee and ensures a single view of IT work across Run, Grow and Transform initiatives.

Responsibilities include establishing standards consumed by Delivery, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security, and delivering executive-ready reports with potential automation via Jira, Tempo, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in IT, business, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years in IT project/program management; PMO leadership exp.
• Experience maturing PMO, portfolio and demand management.
• Strong mix of Agile/Scrum and traditional/waterfall delivery.
• Experience reporting IT KPIs; familiarity with dashboards.
• PMI/SAFe certifications are a plus.

IT PMO Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an IT PMO Lead to own and mature our IT Project Management Office and the disciplines that hold it together - IT PMO governance, IT Portfolio Management, IT Demand Management, and IT KPIs. Operating out of the Business Transformation function and reporting into the IT Steering Committee (ITSC), this role is accountable for one consolidated view of the IT book of work and for standardizing how projects are governed, prioritized, and measured across Run, Grow, and Transform initiatives. The IT PMO Lead establishes the standards that other IT functions - Delivery, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security - consume and report through, creating a single accountability chain: governance defines the rules, the portfolio applies them, and KPIs prove whether they work.

Key Responsibilities

• . IT PMO Governance & Standardization. Own the IT PMO operating model out of Business Transformation define standard project attributes, phases, stage gates, ownership, escalation paths, and review cadences, and drive their consistent adoption across Run and change initiatives so that all IT functions plan, deliver, and report through a common methodology and rhythm.
• . IT Portfolio Management. Maintain a single consolidated view of every IT project using the Run / Grow / Transform investment lens and the Initiative → Program → Project hierarchy manage capacity, funding, and prioritization trade-offs, and surface prioritization and resource constraints to the ITSC for decisioning (per the IT Portfolio Management Procedure).
• . IT Demand Management. Operate and enforce a single, governed front door for all IT/BT demand - standardized intake, assessment, prioritization, approval, and delivery through the FRP (Feature / Report / Project Request) Jira portal balance demand against available capacity and funding, provide end-to-end traceability from submission to closure, and run the triage cadence that escalates competing requests to the ITSC.
• . IT KPIs & Performance Reporting. Own the IT KPI framework and reporting cadence standardize KPI definitions across Scope, Cost, Quality, Performance, Backlog, and Throughput dimensions, aligned to the Essential IT Requirements and the Run / Grow / Transform model deliver quarterly KPI reporting to the ITSC and annual reporting to the Board, and mature toward automated reporting from Jira, Tempo, and Power BI.
• . Governance Cadence & Committee Support. Establish and run the recurring governance cadence - monthly portfolio triage, quarterly portfolio review, and value-realization reviews - and prepare portfolio, demand, and KPI materials for the IT Steering Committee and Transformation Program SteerCos (e.g., Guidewire, Xcelerate29).
• . Capacity & Resource Management. Partner with IT function leads to capture capacity and allocation as the pre-requisite for reliable performance data identify binding constraints (e.g., Infrastructure and DevOps capacity), model utilization, and inform prioritization and staffing trade-offs.
• . Value Realization & Continuous Improvement. Validate delivery against KPIs and objectives, report value delivered versus forecast, capture lessons learned, and continuously improve PMO, portfolio, and demand management maturity across the IT organization.
• . Stakeholder Management & Communication. Serve as the connective tissue between business sponsors, IT leads, and Home Office / global stakeholders provide transparent, decision-oriented reporting and drive alignment on prioritization, capacity, and funding.

Qualifications and Experience

• . Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field a Master's degree is a plus.
• . 8&plus years of experience in IT project/program management, with at least 3 years leading a PMO, portfolio management, or IT governance function.
• . Demonstrated experience establishing or maturing PMO, portfolio, and demand management frameworks, including standard intake, prioritization, and stage-gate governance.
• . Strong command of both Agile/Scrum and traditional/waterfall delivery, with the ability to standardize cadences across mixed ways of working.
• . Experience defining and reporting IT KPIs and building executive-ready performance dashboards familiarity with ITIL 4 practices and a Run / Grow / Transform operating model.
• . Hands-on proficiency with Jira and Confluence (portfolio boards, initiative/program/project hierarchies) and capacity/effort tooling such as Tempo Power BI or equivalent for KPI reporting.
• . Knowledge of insurance or financial services business processes and a regulated operating environment strongly preferred.
• . PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or portfolio management (e.g., MoP/PfMP) certification is a plus.
• . Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with executive presence and the ability to translate portfolio and performance data into clear decisions for senior leadership.
