Job summary

Newport World Resorts is seeking a detail-oriented Security Investigator to conduct thorough investigations to preserve the company’s reputation. You will verify information, perform site visits, gather evidence, and prepare factual reports while coordinating with SPIR management and legal departments.

The role requires strong investigative and communication skills and a readiness to assist law enforcement when needed.

Qualifications

• Hold a baccalaureate degree.
• Law/criminology/forensic background is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience as Security Officer/Investigator; fresh graduates may apply.
• Police or military background is preferable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Need investigative and data analysis abilities; basic knowledge of law and evidence.
• Knowledge of Basic Life Support, Fire Fighting and Rescue.

Responsibilities

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Conducts a thorough and comprehensive investigation on incidents that may put in peril the good name and reputation of the Company, Involving all stakeholders, and preserve the safety and security in its daily operations. Conduct field investigations and verify information related to assigned cases as well as gather, document, and preserve evidence in accordance with established procedures. Conducts site visits when authorized and prepare factual investigation notes and submit reports on assigned activities. Assist the SAID Supervisor and Specialist in investigations and in completing assigned cases.

Special Projects

• In special cases tasked by the Manager of SPIR, Special Investigators shall report directly to the Manager/ Assistant Manager on matters or incidents that are sensitive, high-profile, essentially critical and confidential or special tasks deemed proper in the course of its operations.
• Conducts special operations relating to external subjects affecting the interest of NWR as instructed by the management within or outside NWR premises.
• Coordinates with government agencies as instructed by the SPIR Manager.

Investigations

• Coordinates with other departments for the invitation of employees or patron subject for investigation.
• Conducts clarificatory interview and obtains the written statements of complainant/respondents and witnesses relating to cases assigned.
• Conducts ocular inspection in areas of investigation and obtain documents relating to the investigation with the consent of the concerned department.
• Gathers and analyzes information relative to the case being investigated.
• Conducts covert and overt Background Investigations, Surveillance Operations, Under-cover works and other related tasks under the guidance of the Manager of SPIR.
• Prepares and submits to the SPIR-Assistant Manager/ Manager their respective investigative reports including their findings and recommendations.
• Assists patrons, guests and employees who seek Police and Barangay assistance.
• Verifies or validates the veracity of legal documents (ei summons, warrant of arrest or search warrant) being presented by law enforcement agencies before their implementation in the premises in coordination with the legal department.
• Assists law enforcement agencies and representatives of court or other quasi-judicial bodies regarding their queries and requests in coordination with the legal department.

Research

• Special Investigators are tasked to consolidate all reports from CSU, RSU, ESSCU and External Security and generate a detailed and comprehensive Daily Operations Report which shall be submitted to Security Control.
• Initiates and maintains a strong consulting relationship with all levels of staff and management to ensure that there is a culture of security awareness and compliance.
• Conducts physical security surveys and blueprint reviews and make recommendations to enhance the security and protection of company facilities and assets.
• Consolidates reports of violation of NWR Code of Conduct including crimes committed within the premises.

Other Tasks

• Assists the Crisis Management Team during crisis, emergencies and calamities.
• Must adhere to the Private Security Law (RA. 5487)
• Execute and support SPIR related projects and programs
• Carry out additional security related tasks as directed by the Chief Safety and Security Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Holder of Baccalaureate Degree.
• Units or degree in law, criminology, psychology, forensic science and any other related course is an advantage.
• Having at least 1 year’ experience as a Security Officer / Investigator or any related job is an advantage, but fresh graduates may apply.
• Police or military background or a Licensed Criminologist is preferable.
• Good and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must possess investigative and technical skills to analyze data, and interpret results.
• Must have basic knowledge of law and evidence.

• Must be knowledgeable in Basic Life Support, Fire Fighting and Rescue.

• Must be emotionally and mentally equipped to handle sensitive and high-stress cases.
