Private Advertiser is seeking an Inventory Supervisor to oversee hospital supplies, CSSD support, and clinical stock distribution. You will manage stock levels, coordinate with CSSD, OR, Nursing Units, Pharmacy, and other departments to prevent stock-outs and minimize waste.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3–5 years of inventory or materials management experience in a hospital setting, with supervisory responsibilities.
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient management, control, storage, replenishment, and distribution of hospital supplies, with particular responsibility for inventory supporting the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and other clinical and surgical areas. The position ensures the availability, accuracy, proper storage, traceability, and timely distribution of sterile supplies, surgical instruments, medical consumables, and other hospital materials. The Inventory Supervisor monitors inventory levels, manages stock movement, conducts physical counts, investigates variances, and coordinates with Operating Room (OR), Nursing Units, Pharmacy, and other hospital departments to prevent stock-outs and minimize excess or obsolete inventory. The role is responsible for maintaining proper inventory practices consistent with hospital policies, infection prevention and control requirements, applicable regulatory standards, and patient safety objectives.
Supervise the day-to-day inventory operations for hospital supplies, medical consumables, sterile supplies, surgical instruments, and other materials.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that physical stock quantities are consistent with the hospital inventory management system.
Supervise the inventory and availability of supplies and materials used by the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD).
Monitor stock levels of sterilization consumables, packaging materials, sterilization indicators, chemical indicators, biological indicators, wraps, pouches, containers, and other CSSD-related supplies.
Coordinate with the Operating Room, CSSD, Nursing Units, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and other clinical departments regarding supply requirements.
Review consumption patterns and anticipate inventory requirements based on surgical schedules and hospital activity.
Supervise receiving, inspection, storage, picking, and issuance of hospital supplies and materials.
Conduct scheduled and cycle-count physical inventories and reconcile physical inventory against system records.
Monitor expiration dates of medical supplies, sterile supplies, and other inventory items.
Supervise, train, and guide inventory staff, storekeepers, and other assigned personnel.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related field.
At least 3–5 years of relevant inventory, materials management and hospital supply chain experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
Hospital experience is required, preferably with direct experience supporting Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), Operating Room (OR), Surgical Services, or clinical supply operations.
Knowledge of inventory management systems, or hospital materials management systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for inventory analysis and reporting.
Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and supervisory skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to urgent hospital supply requirements.
