About the role

Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine seeks a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine Faculty Member to join our esteemed institution in Guadalupe, Cebu City. This is a part-time position that offers the opportunity to contribute to medical education and student development whilst maintaining flexibility in your professional commitments. As a Faculty Member in the Department of Internal Medicine, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals, delivering high-quality instruction in internal medicine, and advancing the academic mission of our college. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in medical education and fostering an environment of scholarly inquiry and clinical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Delivering engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in Internal Medicine to medical students, covering core areas such as general medicine and its subspecialties
• Designing, developing, and updating Internal Medicine course materials, curricula, and learning resources to ensure they reflect current clinical guidelines and best practices
• Assessing student performance through examinations, assignments, practical assessments, and clinical evaluations in internal medicine rotations
• Providing constructive feedback and mentoring to students to support their academic and professional development in internal medicine
• Participating in curriculum development and quality assurance initiatives to enhance educational standards within the Internal Medicine department
• Contributing to academic research and scholarly activities relevant to internal medicine and its subspecialties
• Maintaining professional competence through continuing medical education and engagement with current literature in internal medicine
• Collaborating with colleagues across the college, including other clinical departments, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive student learning experiences
• Supervising student clinical placements and rotations in internal medicine wards and outpatient settings
• Attending departmental and college meetings and contributing to institutional governance as required

What we're looking for

• A medical degree (MD) with board certification/diplomate status in Internal Medicine and appropriate professional registration and licensing (PRC license, valid specialty board certification)
• Graduate of a 3-year Internal Medicine residency training program from a Philippine College of Physicians (PCP)-accredited institution
• Substantial clinical experience in Internal Medicine, demonstrating current competence and expertise across general medicine and relevant subspecialties
• Teaching experience in higher education or clinical/hospital settings, with evidence of effective instructional delivery to medical students or residents
• Strong subject matter knowledge in internal medicine and the ability to communicate complex clinical concepts clearly and accessibly
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse, multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to student-centred learning and the development of future healthcare professionals
• Familiarity with current educational technologies and digital learning platforms
• The ability to balance multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity
• A commitment to professional development and engagement with scholarly activity in internal medicine
• Prior experience in curriculum development or educational programme design is highly desirable
