Job summary

MicroSourcing in Eastwood, Quezon City, is seeking an Intermediate C++ Engineer to enhance Chromium-based components and collaborate with a cross-functional team. The role focuses on secure remote browser solutions, performance improvements, and maintaining high-quality C++ code in a Linux environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience developing C++ applications on Linux.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++11+) and object-oriented programming.
• Hands-on experience with Linux development tools including Git, GDB, GCC/Clang.
• Experience with Linux shell scripting using Python or Bash.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills with GoogleTest.

Responsibilities

• Modify and enhance Chromium code to support a secure remote browser solution.
• Collaborate with software engineers to improve browser remoting capabilities and display performance.
• Develop, debug, test, and maintain high-quality C++ code following clean coding principles.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, investigate bug reports, and implement resolutions.
• Contribute to incremental browser technology improvements in an Agile environment.

Your Role

As an Intermediate C++ Engineer, you will:

• Modify and enhance Chromium code to support a secure remote browser solution.
• Collaborate with software engineers to improve browser remoting capabilities and display performance.
• Develop, debug, test, and maintain high-quality C++ code following clean coding principles and software engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, investigate bug reports, and implement effective resolutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of browser technologies while working in an Agile development environment.

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• 2-3 years of experience developing C++ applications on Linux.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 or later) and object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Hands-on experience with Linux development tools, including Git, GDB, GCC/Clang, and Linux development environments.
• Experience with Linux shell scripting using Python or Bash.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with experience using unit testing frameworks such as GoogleTest.

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Experience working with open-source browsers such as Chromium or Firefox.
• Familiarity with development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Jenkins.
• Experience working in Scrum or Agile software development environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team.
