About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Interior Design & Joinery Documentation Specialist with strong Revit skills to join our client’s Interior Design division, working on high-end residential projects across Australia.
This is a documentation-focused role suited to someone who enjoys the technical and detailed side of interior design. You will be responsible for translating interior design concepts into clear, accurate and well-organised documentation, with a particular focus on joinery, cabinetry and detailed interior elements.
While design and concept development experience is a plus, the key priority is your ability to produce high-quality, detailed interior and joinery documentation in Revit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed interior design documentation using Revit for high-end residential projects.
- Develop detailed joinery and cabinetry documentation, including kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes, built-in cabinetry and other custom interior elements.
- Prepare detailed plans, internal elevations, sections and joinery drawings.
- Prepare schedules for finishes, fittings, fixtures, materials and other interior selections.
- Translate design concepts and mark-ups into accurate and well-coordinated documentation.
- Ensure drawings are neat, accurate, consistent and well organised.
- Review documentation for accuracy, dimensions, coordination and completeness before issuing.
- Coordinate interior documentation with architectural, electrical and other consultant information.
- Assist with electrical layout documentation where required.
- Incorporate design revisions and feedback efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain organised Revit models, drawing sets, schedules and project documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the wider design team while taking ownership of assigned documentation tasks.
- Proactively identify potential documentation issues and communicate them to the relevant team members.
- Use project management and collaboration platforms such as ClickUp, Programma or similar.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly detail-oriented and confident working in Revit.
You don't need to be heavily focused on concept design or 3D rendering. We're primarily looking for someone who can take an established design and turn it into accurate, detailed and well-coordinated documentation, particularly for joinery and cabinetry.
You should be comfortable working on detailed kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes, built-in cabinetry, finishes and other interior elements, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy across your documentation.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in interior design, interior architecture, architectural documentation, drafting or a related field.
- Strong experience with joinery and cabinetry detailing.
- Experience documenting kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes, built-in cabinetry and other custom joinery.
- Experience preparing finishes, fittings, fixtures and selection schedules.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proactive, organised and able to work independently.
- Comfortable taking initiative and asking questions when clarification is required.
- Australian project experience is highly regarded but not essential.
- NSW-specific experience is not required.
- Experience with electrical layout documentation is preferred but not essential.
- Exposure to project management software such as ClickUp, Programma or similar is an advantage.
A portfolio is required as part of the application.
Please provide examples of actual documentation work, particularly:
- Joinery drawings
- Bathroom documentation
- Cabinetry and built-in furniture
- Internal elevations
- Detailed plans and sections
- Joinery elevations and details
- Finishes and materials schedules
- Other detailed interior documentation produced in Revit
Nice to Have
- Experience working on high-end residential projects.
- Experience working with Australian architecture or interior design practices.
- Knowledge of Australian construction practices and documentation standards.
- Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or related qualifications.
- Experience with concept development and design is a plus.
- Experience coordinating with architects, builders, contractors, suppliers or consultants.
