Job summary

Outsourcing Advantage seeks an experienced Ingredient Sourcing Specialist to join our remote team and support a US-based client in food product development. The role focuses on sourcing ingredients, additives, stabilizers, packaging materials, and related components from global suppliers.

Ideal candidates will have strong online research and negotiation skills, excellent English communication, and advanced Excel/Sheets proficiency to manage multiple sourcing projects across regions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, preferably in the food industry.
• Experience sourcing food ingredients, raw materials, or specialty food components.
• Strong online research and supplier sourcing skills.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor communication abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills (CEFR C1 or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Source food ingredients, raw materials, and specialty components for product development and commercial production.
• Research and identify ingredient manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers worldwide.
• Obtain pricing, lead times, MOQs, ingredient specifications, COAs, and technical documentation.
• Source dairy ingredients, sweeteners, starches, gums, flavorings, fruit preparations, and other functional ingredients.
• Coordinate ingredient sample requests for R&D and product testing.
• Compare suppliers based on quality, certifications, pricing, and availability.
• Assist with ingredient substitutions and alternative sourcing solutions.
• Maintain supplier databases and sourcing records.
• Support procurement of packaging materials and related product components.
• Build and maintain relationships with ingredient manufacturers, distributors, and brokers.
• Monitor ingredient availability, market trends, and pricing.

We are seeking an experienced Ingredient Sourcing Specialist to join our remote team and support food product development, R&D, and commercial production initiatives for a US-based client.

This role is responsible for identifying and sourcing food ingredients, dairy components, additives, stabilizers, packaging materials, and other raw materials from qualified domestic and international suppliers. The ideal candidate is highly resourceful, detail-oriented, and experienced in supplier research, procurement, and ingredient sourcing within the food manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food ingredient sourcing or procurement
• Background in food manufacturing, food science, dairy, bakery, confectionery, or beverage industries
• Experience working with suppliers such as Ingredion, Tate & Lyle, Cargill, ADM, IFF, Kerry, or similar ingredient manufacturers
• Understanding of food ingredient specifications, technical data sheets, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
• Familiarity with FDA-regulated food products and food safety documentation
