Job summary

BDO Unibank, Inc. seeks a Tech Lead/Delivery Manager to ensure high quality, timely delivery for Retail Loan Origination systems. You will own delivery accountability, coordinate with ITG and other units, and enforce SDLC governance while managing escalations and vendor engagement.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5+ years in application delivery and complex project management within financial services. Onsite work in Makati/Ortigas is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job.
• At least 5 years of application delivery experience in financial services.
• At least 5 years of experience managing complex projects involving digital or online-transaction solutions.
• Willingness to work onsite in Makati/Ortigas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality and timely submission of all Tech Lead and Developer deliverables of the Retail Loan Origination section
• Ensure upkeep of the applications and systems owned by the section
• Develop a full understanding of how the team/section works and orchestrate processes across other teams/sections as needed
• Manage all escalations and resolutions from the Tech Leads and Developers of the section
• Share delegated responsibility of the head and own delivery in the assigned team/section
• Work with other units across ITG to ensure seamless delivery
• Enforce adherence to IT SDLC and Governance structure
• Ensure business alignment with strategic direction and architecture
• Assign the right people to projects to ensure proper scope validation and delivery ownership
• Manage all escalations related to the tech team
• Provide oversight of vendors and solution providers engaged by the team/section
• Act as point of escalation for Tech Leads and Developers
• Ensure proper support for issue resolution and risk management
• Conduct performance reviews for Tech Leads and Developers

Key Responsibilities:

Accountability to ITG:

• Share the delegated responsibility of the head, and own full accountability for delivery in the assigned team/section
• Work closely with other units/counterparties across ITG to ensure seamless delivery
• Enforce adherence to IT SDLC and Governance structure

Accountability to Business:

• Ensure that there is a good understanding of the business unit’s strategic direction
• Ensure alignment of strategies with BDO architecture
• Ensure that the right people (Tech Leads and Developers) are assigned to each project in order to ensure proper support, validation of scope, requirements development, and delivery ownership
• Manage all escalations in relation to the tech team

Accountability to Section Head:

• Take full accountability of the quality of application delivery rendered by the team/section
• Plan for and manage the team/section’s capacity, and ensure appropriate and sufficient staffing of the team/section
• Ensure adequate competency in Tech Leads and Developers
• Identify and optimize how resources can be leveraged across delivery teams
• Ensure timely escalation of issues
• Provide oversight of all vendors and solution providers engaged by the team/section and their assigned resources
• Act as point of escalation for all Tech Leads and Developers
• Ensure implementation of the proper support required for resolution of issues and risk management
• Ensure adequate and appropriate level of support by defining competencies, providing training, and providing team/sectionmembers with adequate experience and exposure
• Conduct performance reviews for Tech Leads and Developers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job
• At least 5 years of application delivery experience in the financial services industry
• At least 5 years of experience in managing complex projects involving the implementation of digital or online-transaction solutions
• Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Makati/Ortigas.
