Job summary

BDO Unibank, Inc. is seeking a Senior Section Head to ensure high quality and timely delivery of all projects within the unit. You will oversee application and platform upkeep, orchestrate cross-team processes, and manage escalations and resolutions across ITG.

You will work onsite in Ortigas, leveraging extensive experience in core banking and complex delivery programs to align business strategy with BDO architecture and governance. Strong leadership and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job
• 15 or more years of application delivery experience in the financial services industry
• 10 or more years of experience in managing complex projects (Core Banking)
• Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Ortigas

Responsibilities

• Share the delegated responsibility of the head, and own full accountability for delivery in the assigned team/section
• Work closely with other units/counterparties across ITG to ensure seamless delivery
• Enforce adherence to IT SDLC and Governance structure
• Ensure alignment of strategies with BDO Architecture
• Assign the right people to each project to ensure support, scope validation, requirements, and delivery ownership
• Take full accountability of the quality of application delivery rendered by the team/section
• Plan for and manage the team/section’s capacity and staffing
• Ensure competency in delivery managers and team members
• Provide oversight of vendors and solution providers
• Act as escalation point for delivery leads and team members
• Ensure appropriate support for issue resolution and risk management
• Define competencies, provide training, and give team members exposure
• Conduct performance reviews for delivery managers and other team members

Job Summary:

He/she will develop a full understanding of how the team/section works and orchestrate applicable processes across other teams/sections as needed and will manage all escalations and resolutions.

• Ensure that there is a good understanding of the business unit’s strategic direction and ensure alignment of strategies with BDO Architecture


• Ensure that the right people are assigned to each project in order to ensure proper support, validation of scope, requirements development, and delivery ownership


• Take full accountability of the quality of application delivery rendered by the team/section


• Plan for and manage the team/section’s capacity, and ensure appropriate and sufficient staffing of the team/section


• Ensure adequate competency in delivery managers and other team members


• Provide oversight of all vendors and solution providers engaged by the team/section and their assigned resources


• Act as point of escalation for all delivery team leads and team members.


• Ensure implementation of the proper support required for resolution of issues and risk management


• Ensure adequate and appropriate level of support by defining competencies, providing training, and providing team/section members with adequate experience and exposure


• Conduct performance reviews for delivery manager and other team/section members
