Job summary

Asticom Technology Inc. in the Philippines is seeking an experienced RPG Programmer to design, develop, test, and maintain IBM i-based software.

The role covers core legacy code and modern IBM i applications, translating business requirements into technical solutions with a focus on performance and modernization. You will work with RPG IV/RPGLE, Free-Format RPG, and DB2 SQL, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement REST APIs and data integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in software development on the IBM i OS environment.
• Proficient in RPGLE, Free-Format RPG, CL/CLLE, and DB2 SQL.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Rational Developer for i (RDi), PDM, SEU, and change-management tools.

Responsibilities

• Write, clean, and optimize programs using RPG IV, RPGLE, and Free-Form RPG to support core business operations.
• Develop embedded SQL operations, DB2 procedures, CL scripts, and DDS/DSPF screens for data processing.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into designs and workflows.
• Debug, test, and issue hotfixes to maintain high application stability.
• Refactor legacy RPG to Free-Format RPG; modularize features and build REST APIs for integrations.
• Create design specs, data flow diagrams, and change logs per internal procedures.
