Thomson Reuters seeks a Legal Editor for the Legal Journal Abstract Writer role to distill complex law articles into concise abstracts for Westlaw UKI. You will read, analyse, and synthesize material across diverse subjects to support professional research with accuracy and speed.

You will hold a JD or LLB (preferably UK law), demonstrate exemplary English writing, and adapt to evolving editorial tools, including generative AI.

Qualifications

• JD or LLB degree (preferably UK law).
• Excellent English communication and writing skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with emerging tools including generative AI to enhance productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Self-starter with strong legal research and analytical abilities.
• keen eye for detail and proofreading skills; able to adapt to high priority updates with short notice.
• Open to feedback and able to communicate clearly with Thomson Reuters contacts globally.
• Strong team player able to collaborate in a global environment.

Responsibilities

• Select, abstract, and index material for Westlaw UKI according to defined criteria.
• Create index entries for legal articles with accurate citations and house style.
• Adhere to editorial schedules and quality standards for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct post-publication checks on database records and online services.
• Achieve self-management of priorities and workload.
• Maintain knowledge of legal and regulatory developments across diverse areas of law.
• Demonstrate competence on company editorial systems to perform job functions.
