Job summary

Manulife: Derivatives Onboarding Analyst role within the Global Derivatives Services team. You will report to the Manager of Derivatives Onboarding and support onboarding for exchange-traded, OTC, and centrally-cleared derivatives to enable portfolio managers and traders.

The role requires a self-starter who is highly organized with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. You will coordinate with middle office, brokers, legal, and audit while driving process improvements and risk

Qualifications

• Relevant undergraduate education in Business Administration, Finance or Economics.
• Minimum 3 years of meaningful industry experience.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite is required.
• Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability to work onsite and from home anytime depending on business need and current environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct derivatives onboarding functions to allow portfolio managers to use derivatives and traders to execute trades.
• Coordinate with middle office, operations and collateral management; liaise with brokers and custodians.
• Coordinate with Legal Services to ensure proper legal agreements are in place to support derivatives trading.
• Support traders' need for best execution by setting up brokers and addressing legacy gaps.
• Prioritize resolving trading and trade matching issues in real time to ensure a smooth post-execution process.
• Maintain fund and broker onboarding and legal documentation per the business record retention policy.
• Ensure procedures and checklists meet internal audit requirements and update as needed.
• Maintain a matrix of accounts, authorized derivatives products, legal agreements and active brokers.
• Contribute to external broker relationships and harmonize onboarding with Asia Derivatives Services.
