Job summary

eTap Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to maintain MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, design and manage ETL/ELT pipelines, and support our Data Lake and cloud data infrastructure in a hybrid Makati role.

You will monitor performance, enforce security and governance, handle backups and disaster recovery, and collaborate with fintech teams to ensure reliable, scalable data services for mission‑critical financial applications. Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 2 to 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator, Data Engineer, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience administering MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong SQL development, query optimization, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Talend, Python, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of Data Lake architecture and modern data warehousing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Monitor database performance and optimize queries.
• Troubleshoot database issues and ensure high availability.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and routine maintenance.
• Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows.
• Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely data movement across systems.
• Investigate and resolve data pipeline failures.
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets.
• Maintain Data Lake architecture and storage formats (Parquet/Avro).
• Monitor data pipeline performance and optimize bottlenecks.
• Ensure security, access controls, and compliance for data assets.
