Job description

Hospital housekeeping staff are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. They ensure that hospital rooms, operating areas, offices, and public spaces meet strict hygiene standards to help prevent infections and support quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, nursing stations, hallways, and public areas according to hospital protocols
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste, including biohazard materials, following safety procedures
• Restock supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other cleaning products
• Handle linen, including changing bed sheets and transporting soiled linen to designated areas
• Clean and maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, buffing, or vacuuming as needed
• Follow proper infection control and safety guidelines to minimize the spread of pathogens
• Use and store cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with hospital policy
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor
• Work cooperatively with nursing staff and other team members to ensure rooms are ready for patients
• Perform other related housekeeping duties as assigned

Qualifications
