The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and hygiene in assigned areas to ensure a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests, residents, or staff. The role may include cleaning rooms, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and offices, as well as performing laundry duties and maintaining cleaning equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Sanitization
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, and other high-traffic areas.
- Empty trash bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Wash windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
Laundry and Linen Care
- Wash, dry, fold, and iron linens and clothing as needed.
- Replace and restock towels, bed linens, and toiletries.
Organization and Maintenance
- Ensure rooms and areas are neat, tidy, and organized.
- Report maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate department.
- Restock cleaning supplies and tools as necessary.
Guest and Resident Interaction
- Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with guests, residents, or staff.
- Respect privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow established health and safety procedures.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely.
- Adhere to company policies and regulatory standards.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required).
Experience
- Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning services (preferred).
- Familiarity with cleaning products, tools, and techniques.
