About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Housecook to join Homni (PH) Electronics Corp. in Malvar, Batangas. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our community and ensuring the wellbeing of our staff and residents. As Housecook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing oriental meals and maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and kitchen hygiene. This position is essential to our operations, contributing directly to the health, satisfaction and morale of those we serve.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook meals that are nutritious, well-balanced and tailored to dietary requirements and preferences
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and organized kitchen environment in accordance with food safety standards and regulations
• Manage food inventory, including ordering, storage and tracking of supplies to minimize waste
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping and portioning as required for meal preparation
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain it in good working condition
• Follow established recipes and cooking procedures whilst adapting meals to accommodate special dietary needs
• Serve meals in a timely manner and ensure presentation meets quality standards
• Maintain accurate records of meals prepared and food costs as required
• Collaborate with management to plan weekly menus and ensure variety in meals
• Dispose of waste responsibly and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a housecook or in a similar food preparation role, preferably in a chinese family in Hongkong or China, community, institutional or residential setting
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and food safety practices
• Ability to plan meals that are nutritious and appealing to a diverse range of individuals
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain a clean working environment
• Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items safely
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality in food preparation and presentation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a community-focused environment
• Valid food handler certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to accommodate various nutritional needs
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Willing to market ingredients herself.
• Willing to render OT when necessary.
