Hemodialysis Nurse
We are seeking a registered nurse (RN) who specializes in the care of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatments for kidney failure or related conditions. They are responsible for preparing, monitoring, and ensuring the safety of patients during dialysis sessions while maintaining a compassionate, empathetic approach to care. Hemodialysis nurses must have specialized knowledge of renal diseases, dialysis procedures, and the use of dialysis equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the patient’s condition, medical history, and current health status before each dialysis session.
- Continuously monitor the patient’s vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels during the dialysis process.
- Identify and address any signs of complications, such as hypotension, electrolyte imbalances, or infections.
- Prepare and set up the dialysis machine and equipment, ensuring all protocols and procedures are followed.
- Initiate and terminate the dialysis session according to the prescribed treatment plan.
- Educate patients and their families about the dialysis process, treatment options, dietary requirements, and lifestyle modifications.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, medication administration, and any changes in the patient’s condition.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure the patient’s safety.
- Ensure that dialysis machines and related equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained according to facility guidelines.
- Work closely with nephrologists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Participate in case discussions, offering input and updates on patient progress during dialysis treatments.
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a hemodialysis setting is required.
- Specialized training or certification in hemodialysis nursing is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of renal disease, dialysis procedures, and related medical conditions.
- Proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of hemodialysis equipment.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills, with the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to start ASAP and to work at Centuria Medical Makati, Poblacion, Makati City.
