Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Safety Manager to develop and drive Health, Safety and Security programs for the Head Office and mining sites.

The role requires advising plant management, coordinating safety trainings, inductions, audits and inspections while ensuring strict regulatory compliance across all operations.

Qualifications

• College graduate with preferably Science-related degree.
• At least five (5) years in a safety management role in a mining organization or 10 years in an operational role in a “Safety Conscious” organization.
• Certified as a safety practitioner under both safety and mining legislations.

JOB PURPOSE:

• To develop the Health, Safety and Security policies and programs for Head Office and sites (incorporating the HMDC Strategy) and then guide its implementation through the development and initiation of site programs, procedures, workshops and training.

• The position leads in the implementation of Health, Safety and Security policies of the Company.
  

JOB SCOPE:

• The position entails the delivery and implementation of world class safety program to the Head Office and sites. This will be achieved initially by implementing corporate initiatives and plans with greater emphasis on site specific requirements as time goes on.

• Act as an advisor to the plant management on issues concerning Health, Safety and Security (HSS).

• Management of the safety functions (reporting, training, inductions, auditing, inspections etc.) is a key aspect of this role.

• Ensures compliance to regulatory requirements.
