We are committed to delivering quality energy solutions while fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous growth.

Fuel the Future With Us

The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for leading Unioil's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes, and for providing the Chief Finance Officer, the Executive Committee, and the Board with timely, accurate, and insightful analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making. The role owns the company's short- and long-term financial planning cycle, drives scenario and sensitivity analysis around fuel pricing, foreign exchange, and volume assumptions, and oversees the Corporate Planning function to ensure alignment between long-range strategic plans and annual budgets. The role is expected to act as a key business partner to Commercial, Supply Chain/Terminals, Retail, and Operations, translating financial analysis into actionable recommendations.

How You'll Drive Success
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic (monthly/quarterly) rolling forecasts across all business units (Retail, Commercial/Wholesale, Lubricants, Terminals/Depots, and Corporate).
  • Consolidate business unit plans into a single, coherent company-wide financial plan, ensuring consistency of assumptions (e.g., Brent crude, Mean of Platts Singapore pricing, peso-dollar exchange rate, volume growth, inflation).
  • Develop and maintain integrated financial models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to support planning, capital allocation, and financing decisions.
  • Own and continuously refine scenario planning and stress-testing capability (e.g., oil price shocks, FX volatility, regulatory changes, demand disruptions) to inform management and Board risk discussions.
Management & Board Reporting
  • Prepare monthly management reports, variance analyses (actual vs. budget vs. forecast vs. prior year), and key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards for the CFO and Exco.
  • Prepare the CEO Reports, Board and Board Committee materials relating to financial performance, outlook, and strategic initiatives, in coordination with the CFO.
  • Provide clear narrative and root-cause analysis behind financial results, translating numbers into business insight for non-finance stakeholders.
Corporate Planning Oversight
  • Directly supervise the Corporate Planning Manager and the corporate planning function, ensuring the development and periodic refresh of the company's 3- to 5-year strategic/long-range plan.
  • Ensure alignment between the strategic plan, annual budget, and capital expenditure program.
  • Guide the evaluation of new business initiatives, expansion projects, and market studies undertaken by Corporate Planning, ensuring rigorous financial and commercial assumptions.
  • Review and evaluate capital expenditure proposals (new stations, terminal/depot investments, plant and equipment) using standard investment appraisal tools (NPV, IRR, payback, sensitivity analysis).Track capex spend against approved budgets and report variances to management.
  • Support feasibility studies and business cases for new ventures, partnerships, or M&A opportunities as needed.
Cost Management & Profitability Analysis
  • Analyze product/channel/customer profitability (Retail stations, Commercial/Industrial accounts, LPG, Lubricants) to identify margin improvement opportunities
  • Partner with business unit heads to identify and monitor cost-efficiency initiatives and track savings realization
  • Monitor working capital metrics (inventory, receivables, payables) and their impact on cash flow forecasts
Systems, Process & Team Leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement of FP&A tools, templates, and systems (e.g., ERP-based planning modules, BI/dashboarding tools) to improve efficiency and accuracy of reporting
  • Establish and enforce sound financial planning controls, documentation, and version control over models and assumptions
  • Lead, coach, and develop the FP&A and Corporate Planning teams; set performance goals and build a strong succession pipeline
  • Act as a key thought partner to the CFO on ad hoc financial analysis, board deck preparation, financing discussions, and strategic projects
The Expertise You Bring
Education
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA); an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage
Experience
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, or controllership, with at least 5 years in a managerial/leadership capacity.
  • Prior experience in oil and gas, energy, or other capital-intensive, commodity-price-sensitive industry is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining complex financial models and leading annual budgeting/forecasting cycles.
  • Experience preparing and presenting to senior management, Board, or Board Committees.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/financial modelling; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
  • Strong financial modelling and quantitative/scenario-analysis skills.
  • Excellent business partnering and stakeholder management skills across finance and non-finance functions.
  • Strong people leadership; able to manage and develop a team, including the Corporate Planning Manager and staff.
  • High degree of integrity, attention to detail, and sound professional judgment.
