Job description

About Unioil Petroleum Philippines, Inc.

Unioil Petroleum Philippines, Inc. is one of the country’s leading independent downstream petroleum companies, operating a network of retail service stations and supplying fuels, lubricants, and petrochemical products to industrial, commercial, and retail customers across the Philippines. We are committed to delivering quality energy solutions while fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous growth.

Fuel the Future With Us

The Retail Pricing Officer plays a critical role in driving Unioil's retail pricing accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability. This role sits at the intersection of data analytics, market intelligence, and commercial operations — supporting the Pricing Manager in developing sound pricing recommendations, ensuring upload accuracy, managing reimbursements, and maintaining retail data integrity across the network. It also carries informal leadership accountability over junior pricing analysts, making it a key position for those who combine sharp analytical skills with a drive to develop others.

How You’ll Drive Success
Pricing and Profitability Analysis
  • Gather, validate, and consolidate competitor and market pricing data for assigned retail stations/zones

  • Prepare pricing analyses and recommendations that support volume and margin improvement targets

  • Assist the Pricing Manager in evaluating pricing scenarios and their impact on competitiveness and profitability

  • Monitor performance of implemented pricing recommendations and flag deviations from expected results

  • Assist the Pricing Manager in building and running pricing simulations to support profitability studies and scenario planning

  • Prepare and deliver standard and ad-hoc profitability and volume reports on schedule

  • Maintain organized documentation and templates to support timely and consistent report generation

Price Compliance and Governance
  • Conduct scheduled price surveys for assigned retail stations/zones per company survey protocol

  • Upload approved station pump prices into pricing/POS systems accurately and within one day of approval

  • Verify uploaded prices against approved price sheets to confirm accuracy across all fuel grades

  • Process price match reimbursement requests and release payments within one week of adjustment

  • Calculate and release Price Protection and Special Price Protection amounts within two days after month-end close

  • Conduct monthly fraud detection analysis across S&R, Loyalty, and East-West transaction data

  • Identify, document, and report suspicious transaction patterns or system anomalies

People and Culture
  • Act as informal team leader for junior pricing analysts, coordinating daily workload and task assignments

  • Review and quality-check outputs (pricing analyses, uploads, reports) prepared by junior analysts before submission to the Pricing Manager

  • Mentor junior analysts on pricing tools, methodology, and best practices in day-to-day work

Operational Efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing/reporting workflows through automation or analytics tools

  • Design, build, and deliver at least one Power BI project or dashboard by year end

The Expertise You Bring

Experience
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in retail pricing, revenue/margin analysis, or a related commercial/finance analytics function

  • Exposure to handling multiple stations/zones and increasing scope of accountability

  • Experience in the oil and gas / fuel retail industry with exposure to the petroleum pricing waterfall (MOPS, landed cost, excise, blending, VAT) is an advantage

Skills & Competencies
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for pricing analysis, reconciliation, and reporting

  • Working knowledge of pricing, POS, and wet stock management systems and Power BI for dashboard/report building

  • Working knowledge in Coding (Python, SQL others)

  • Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Willingness and ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines (e.g., same-day/next-day price uploads, month-end close processing)

  • Exposure to the Philippine downstream oil industry regulatory environment (DOE-OIMB submissions) is an advantage
