Quipper Philippines Inc. seeks a Head of Finance to lead the finance function as a strategic business partner, combining strong accounting stewardship with hands-on leadership of AR, AP and procurement to support service continuity.
You will partner with the CEO and senior leaders to translate financial results into operational impact, build forecasts and drive disciplined processes across treasury and reporting.
The Head of Finance leads QPI's finance function as a business partner, turning financial information and policy into decisions grounded in day-to-day operations. The role combines sound accounting and financial stewardship with hands-on leadership of Accounts Receivable and collections, Accounts Payable and vendor payments, and Procurement and supplier management. The leader anticipates client payment behavior, aligns purchasing and supplier decisions with field operations, and builds disciplined, responsive processes that protect service continuity.
Lead the daily operating rhythm of Accounts Receivable/collections, Accounts Payable/vendor payments and Procurement/supplier management; set priorities, ownership, service levels and escalation routines across the three teams.
Develop collection strategies based on client needs, payment behavior, contract terms and operating context; monitor aging and disputes, ensure timely follow-up, and elevate risks while preserving client relationships.
Oversee supplier relationships and procurement activity, aligning sourcing, purchasing timing and supplier commitments with field requirements and service delivery.
Establish purchasing and spend controls that balance approvals, value, budget discipline and timely access to the goods and services operations need.
Work with Operations to anticipate supplier, payment or cash-flow issues that could interrupt service; coordinate practical actions that protect continuity and resolve root causes.
Partner with Partner Success, Sales and Operations to understand client and field realities, resolve billing and payment issues, improve handoffs and inform commercial and operating decisions.
Translate ground-level information into forecasts, working-capital priorities, collection and supplier actions, and clear financial recommendations for the CEO and business leaders.
Own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, targeting completion within 5 working days.
Produce accurate monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements under PFRS.
Prepare group reporting packs and deliver timely, decision-ready financial analysis to leadership.
Manage revenue recognition for contract revenue in line with PFRS 15, including school-related revenue.
Lead the annual budget and rolling forecasts with department heads, grounding assumptions in operating plans and field realities.
Deliver monthly variance analysis and KPI reporting (revenue, burn, runway, unit economics), explaining operational drivers and required actions.
Build financial models to support pricing, hiring and market-entry decisions, and assess the financial impact of service and operating choices.
Manage cash-flow forecasting, banking relationships and foreign-exchange exposure, balancing liquidity needs against operating and supplier commitments; set clear controls and service standards for customer receipts, vendor invoices and payments.
Own BIR compliance: income tax, VAT, expanded and final withholding tax, and transfer-pricing documentation.
Lead the annual statutory audit and serve as the main contact for external auditors.
Ensure timely SEC filings (AFS, GIS) and BIR returns, and manage the compliance calendar.
Design and maintain internal controls, approval matrices and finance policies, including purchasing, payment and delegated-spend controls with clear segregation of duties.
Own the finance technology stack and drive automation that improves control, visibility and timely execution.
Hire, lead and develop the Finance team, including AR/collections, AP/vendor payments and Procurement/suppliers.
Partner with the CEO and leadership on strategy, translate financial results into operational implications, and present financial results to the board
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related field; CPA and/or MBA is an advantage.
At least 8 years in finance leadership across finance operations, controls, reporting and FP&A, with demonstrated ownership of the full close, PFRS financial statements and external audit, and the ability to lead operational teams and improve execution.
Deep working knowledge of Philippine BIR and SEC requirements and applicable labor-related statutory obligations (e.g., SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG contributions and remittances).
Experience handling BIR audits and tax assessments.
Experience in external audit, treasury and management reporting.
Strong controls mindset and segregation-of-duties discipline, with practical knowledge of purchasing and payment controls.
Demonstrated experience leading or closely managing AR/collections, AP/vendor payments and procurement or supplier-management operations.
Ability to interpret client payment behavior, work with commercial and field teams, and turn operational realities into sound financial priorities.
Experience improving purchasing discipline, spend visibility, supplier performance or service continuity through practical processes and cross-functional partnership.
