Job summary

• Exhibits positive human relations skills; proficiency in written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Interview and counseling of tertiary students.
• Provides orientation for new students, parents/guardians, and faculty.
• Administers and analyzes tests and interprets results to provide information about educational, personal, and social needs.
• Provides individual and group counseling to students and guides them in developing career plans.
• Assists students in building self-esteem and developing skills in decision-making, problem-solving, and a positive human relation attitude.
• Consults with parents/guardians, teachers, staff about any special needs of students, and makes appropriate referrals.
• Conducts assessments, referrals, and counseling sessions with students and families.
• Maintains comprehensive guidance records and reports.
• Completes written reports as needed by the Senior Guidance Counselor.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Guidance Counselor.

About the role

Provides students, staff, and parents with support services such as advice and counseling, assessment, diagnostics, referrals, and report writing.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the interview and counseling of tertiary students

• Provides orientation for new students, parents/guardians, and faculty

• Provides appropriate appraisal services to assist teachers, parents/guardians, and students; administers and analyzes tests, and interprets results to provide information about educational, personal, and social needs

• Provides individual and group counseling to students and guides them in developing career plans and decisions

• Assists students in building self-esteem and developing skills in decision-making, problem-solving, and a positive human relation attitude

• Consults and collaborates with parents/guardians, teachers, staff and the Office for Student Services about any special needs of students, and makes appropriate referrals

• Conducts assessments, referrals, and counseling sessions with students and families

• Maintains comprehensive guidance records and reports

• Completes written reports as needed or as requested by the Senior Guidance Counselor

• Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Guidance Counselor from time to time
