Job summary

Everest Academy Nuvali in Laguna invites a qualified Guidance Counselor to support the school’s mission for 2026-2027. You will develop guidance plans, conduct career, personal counseling, and collaborate with teachers and parents to promote student well-being and success.

The role requires a Bachelor's or higher in psychology or guidance counseling, plus at least two years' experience and a valid guidance counselor credential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Psychology or Guidance Counseling.
  • Post Graduate Diploma or Master's Degree would be an advantage.
  • Registered Guidance Counselor.
  • At least 2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field.
  • Proficient English communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Must have knowledge in counseling techniques/approaches.
  • Must have knowledge in administration, testing, and interpretation of psychological tests.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Nuvali, Calamba, Laguna.
  • Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a guidance development plan in relation to the effective delivery of guidance services
  • Conducts guidance activities, vocation/career, and personal counseling of students
  • Briefs faculty members about the profile of each class before the start of each school year
  • Offers quality attention to students with learning difficulties and/or emotional problems that interfere with their learning abilities, their personal development, and/or their family relationships
  • Identifies students with special educational needs
  • Provides individual counseling evaluations
  • Interviews parents of students and facilitates the process of revealing results to the parents
  • Provides training to parents of students
  • Offers guidance to teachers and follows up on progress
  • Prepares crisis management and intervention strategies
  • Participates in Learning Support meetings to discuss special needs of students and to develop intervention strategies
  • Consults with teachers, parents, and administrators with regard to: Classroom management, Parenting skills, Scheduling and Sectioning, Adjustments to a new environment, Interpretations of standardized testing, Writing recommendations for transferring and graduating students
  • Understands each student with the goal of helping him develop to the maximum of his potential
  • Supports the Principal in the recruitment and retention of students
  • Conducts orientation and grade level transition programs with students and parents
  • Administers different tests such as psychological, achievement, and other tests to students specifically but not limited to Everest admissions tests
  • Assists in scheduling testing, confirming appointments, and maintaining student files
  • Evaluates recommendations for candidates for admissions
  • Interviews newly enrolled students
  • Develops and implements the homeroom program
  • Plans virtue campaigns to support the human formation of the students
  • Coordinates, implements, and promotes formation activities of the school for the human, spiritual, and apostolic dimensions
  • Conducts group dynamics activities
  • Assists the Principal in conducting staff development training in guidance related activities

  • Supports school administration in the mission of integrally forming students (academically, humanly, spiritually, and apostolically) in the school
  • Positively aligns, adapts & observes school vision/mission, values, initiatives, principles, policies/ guidelines, and culture
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing situations and completing requests while maintaining a focus on student service
  • Assists the school’s administrative team in representing a positive school image to visitors requesting information about the school
  • Attends to other school-related activities that maybe assigned by school supervisor/s, such as but not limited to, training, mentoring, class substitution and supervision
  • Carries out responsibilities with the awareness that one is above all an apostle of Christ. One’s life, witness of faith, and professional dedication serves as an example of the importance one considers the mission entrusted to oneself.
