Pear Tree. is seeking an innovative Design Engineer to join their highly skilled team. You will backbone groundworks designs, including CFA piling, hand piling, basements, shoring, and demolition, while actively contributing to cost estimates and client-ready quotes.

This dual design-and-commercial role requires hands-on ownership of the project lifecycle from technical design through bid submission, with experience in Australian construction projects. Remote AU-hour alignment is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Structural Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in Australia with foundation design, piling, shoring, excavation, and demolition.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, WALLAP, PLAXIS or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Design & Engineer: Create structural and geotechnical designs for complex ground retention systems, CFA piling, hand piling, full basement excavations, shoring, and demolition scopes.
• Solve Complex Challenges: Adapt designs to on-site soil conditions, weather, and constraints.
• Collaborate & Coordinate: Work with pre-construction and operations teams; assist in estimating, pricing, and trade packages.
• Analyze Technical Data: Assess geotechnical reports, site surveys, and blueprints to propose efficient, safe foundations.
• Ensure Compliance: Adhere to building codes, safety standards, and engineering best practices.
• Estimate & Quote: Prepare take-offs and client-ready proposals for piling, shoring, excavation, and demolition; support quoting.
• Support Field Operations: Provide hands-on technical support on site to ensure design intent and address deviations.
