Job summary

D2B is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team, working on complex soil conditions and full basement packages for Australian projects. You will design CFA piling, hand piling, shoring, excavations, and demolition, while contributing to cost estimates and client-ready quotes.

This dual design-and-commercial role spans from technical design to bid submission. Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Geotech/Structural degree, 3+ years of Australian project experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 3+ years of proven engineering experience in Australia, across foundation design, piling, ground retention, shoring, excavation, and demolition.
• Experience with Australian standards (NCC, AS/NZS) and local council requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design & Engineer: Create structural and geotechnical designs for complex ground retention systems, CFA piling, hand piling, full basement excavations, shoring systems, and demolition scopes.
• Solve Complex Challenges: Adapt designs to address on-site soil conditions, weather impacts, and constraints.
• Collaborate & Coordinate: Work with pre-construction and operations teams; support scoping, pricing, and trade packages in the estimating process.
• Analyze Technical Data: Assess geotechnical reports and site surveys to propose efficient, cost-effective foundations.
• Ensure Compliance: Adhere to local building codes and safety standards across deliverables.
• Estimate & Quote: Prepare take-offs, cost estimates, and client-ready proposals for piling, shoring, excavation, and demolition.
• Support Field Operations: Provide on-site technical support to ensure design intent and mitigate deviations.
