Oriental Consultants Philippines, Inc. seeks a licensed civil/architectural environmental specialist to lead green, climate-resilient building retrofit projects, coordinating with engineers and designers to integrate seismic strengthening, flood risk measures, and energy and water efficiency.

Licensed Civil Engineer, Registered and Licensed Architect, Environmental Scientist, or professional with an equivalent qualification/proof issued by the official licensing or relevant issuing authority in the applicable field.
A Master’s Degree in Sustainable Building Practices, Climate Resilience, Environmental Engineering, Disaster Risk Management, Green Building Design, or a related field is an advantage.
Preferably with relevant professional certifications, such as:
EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) certification for professionals;
LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with relevant specialty; and/or
Certified BERDE Professional.
Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in construction, building design, engineering, environmental management, sustainability, or a related field.
At least five (5) years of relevant/similar experience in the design, construction supervision, quality control/quality assurance, or implementation of green, climate-resilient, and risk-informed building/infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience and technical expertise in seismic retrofitting and structural resilience of buildings or infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience in flood risk assessment, flood risk management, climate adaptation, and disaster risk reduction.
Experience in integrating green building principles, energy efficiency, water efficiency, resource efficiency, and climate-resilient measures into building design and construction.
Experience in building rehabilitation, retrofitting, renovation, or upgrading projects is highly preferred.
With relevant professional training in green building, sustainable construction, climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, seismic design/retrofitting, flood risk management, environmental management, or related areas.
Knowledge of applicable Philippine building, environmental, disaster risk reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainability standards and regulations.
Familiarity with LEED, EDGE, BERDE, and other internationally recognized green building and sustainability frameworks.
Experience in construction supervision, quality control/quality assurance, environmental compliance, and risk management.
Strong analytical, technical, coordination, communication, and report-writing skills.
Provide technical expertise on green, resilient, and sustainable construction practices for the building retrofitting project.
Review the existing building conditions and identify opportunities to improve structural resilience, environmental performance, energy efficiency, water efficiency, and resource efficiency.
Provide technical recommendations for seismic retrofitting and strengthening measures to improve the building's resilience to earthquakes and other hazards.
Assess and provide recommendations on flood risks and appropriate flood-resilience and climate-adaptation measures.
Integrate climate-resilient and disaster risk reduction measures into the design and implementation of building retrofitting works.
Review architectural, structural, MEP, and other technical designs to ensure that green and resilient construction principles are properly incorporated.
Provide technical guidance on the application of LEED, EDGE, BERDE, and other applicable green building standards, where required by the project.
Review project specifications, drawings, designs, materials, and construction methodologies from the perspective of sustainability, resilience, and environmental performance.
Assist in establishing green building and climate-resilience performance criteria for the retrofitting works.
Monitor and provide technical advice on the implementation of energy-saving, water-saving, low-carbon, resource-efficient, and environmentally responsible measures.
Provide technical support during construction supervision and site inspections to verify compliance with approved green and resilient design measures.
Assist in quality control and quality assurance of construction works related to sustainability, resilience, seismic retrofitting, and disaster risk reduction.
Review contractors' method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, and technical proposals related to green and resilient construction.
Identify potential environmental, climate, seismic, flood, and construction-related risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
Coordinate with the Structural Engineer, Architect, MEP Engineers, Environmental Specialist, Procurement and Contract Management Specialist, Quantity Surveyor, and other project team members.
Provide technical inputs on risk assessments, resilience strategies, and climate adaptation measures for the project.
Monitor compliance with applicable environmental, building, safety, sustainability, and resilience requirements.
Assist in documenting and evaluating the project's green building and resilience performance.
Provide technical advice on the selection of sustainable, durable, energy-efficient, and climate-resilient materials and systems.
Prepare or review technical reports, assessment reports, recommendations, monitoring reports, and other project documentation related to green and resilient construction.
Assist in the preparation of capacity-building activities, training, and knowledge-sharing sessions for project staff, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Support the Project Manager/Team Leader in addressing technical issues related to seismic resilience, flood risk, climate adaptation, sustainability, and green construction.
Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, site meetings, inspections, and coordination meetings with the implementing agency, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of the building's environmental performance and climate resilience throughout the project implementation.
