East West Banking Corporation in Taguig is seeking an experienced Governance Officer to promote strong governance practices across the People, Corporate Services and Sustainability Group. You will work with stakeholders to identify risks, ensure compliance, and strengthen governance frameworks that support sustainable growth.

You will collaborate with Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and business teams; monitor governance issues; and help improve policies and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or any Finance related field.
• 3-5 years' experience in governance-related functions (compliance, operational risk, internal audit).
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and mathematical skills.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Preferably with advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Champion a culture of governance, compliance, and ethical business practices.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate governance-related risks.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Enterprise Oversight, and business teams to strengthen controls and governance processes.
• Monitor and elevate governance issues, ensuring timely resolution and accountability.
• Support the continuous improvement of governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Provide insights and recommendations that enable effective decision-making and strategic execution.
