Job summary

J&T Express is seeking a Procurement Specialist in the Philippines to manage local and international purchasing, coordinate suppliers, and handle import documentation and logistics support. The role emphasizes timely sourcing, price negotiation, and adherence to company policies and customs requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, at least 1 year of procurement experience, and background with customs brokers or freight forwarders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Customs Administration, or related field.
• Experience in both local and import procurement operations.
• Knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier coordination, and import procedures.
• Experience working with suppliers, customs brokers, customs agents and freight forwarders.
• At least 1 year relevant work experience in Procurement/Customs or similar field preferred.
• Licensing as Customs Broker (LCB) or relevant customs clearance experience preferred.
• Willing to work in BGC, Taguig City.

Responsibilities

• Review purchase requests based on inventory availability, supply requirements, and operational needs.
• Review and process purchase orders, ensuring proper documentation and timely communication with suppliers and requesting departments.
• Coordinate with local and overseas suppliers, including China-based suppliers, regarding purchase orders, shipment schedules, delivery updates, and procurement concerns.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and efficient delivery arrangements.
• Conduct market research and monitor current pricing trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
• Respond to supplier and internal request inquiries regarding order status, changes, cancellations, and delivery concerns.
• Perform purchasing activities, including sourcing, quotation review, supplier coordination, and order management.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to expedite deliveries and resolve issues related to shortages, delays, and shipment concerns.
• Collaborate with regional procurement teams to align purchasing activities, processes, and business requirements.
• Support import procurement activities by coordinating documentation, customs requirements, and shipment tracking.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
