Job summary

SGS Philippines seeks a Trade Compliance Specialist to ensure timely issuance of importer reports and to classify products under HS codes with valuation per IVP rules. You will liaise with Trade, Valuation, and Inspection Centers and prepare technical position papers as needed.

The role requires a university degree, at least two years in technical/import/export contexts, and strong English communication within a global SGS network.

Qualifications

• University degree.
• Minimum 2 years experience in technical / import / export businesses.
• Familiar with management statistical analysis.
• Good communication skills.
• Fluent in English; other languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Issue reports for import releases at Customs and assist in HS code classification and valuation.
• Assess HS classification and valuation according to IVP rules and country instructions.
• Provide HS code classification and valuation opinions based on SGS references and methodologies.
• Coordinate with Regional Offices for additional information required for report issuance.
• Audit data quality and completeness of documents and ensure proper system registration.
• Respond to inquiries concerning HS code classification, valuation cases and service requests.
• Attend team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to achieve team objectives.
